About this policy
This website is owned and operated by FHS Technology Pty Ltd (ABN 17 165 594 276), trading as POS'99 ("POS'99", "we", "us", "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and how you can access it or raise a concern.
What we collect
We collect only the information we reasonably need to do business with you. This typically includes your name, business name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, phone number, order and quote history, and any messages you send us. If you apply for a trade or 30-day account, we also collect the business and credit reference details you provide in your application.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers. We do not store your full credit card details on our systems.
Like most websites, we also collect some technical information through cookies and analytics tools. This includes your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use it to keep the site working, remember your cart and understand how the site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, although parts of the site, such as the cart and checkout, may not work properly without them.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you place an order, request a quote, create an account, contact us by phone or email, or subscribe to our emails. Occasionally we may receive information from third parties, such as a credit reporting body when you apply for an account, or your employer when an order is placed on your behalf.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your personal information to process and deliver your orders, prepare quotes, manage your account, provide support and warranty service, and assess account applications. We also use it to prevent fraud, meet our legal and tax obligations, improve our products and website, and, where you have agreed or would reasonably expect it, send you news and offers about our products.
Marketing emails
We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using that link or contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not affect service emails about your orders.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to run our business. This includes couriers and freight companies that deliver your order, manufacturers and repairers handling a warranty claim for you, and payment providers. It also includes providers of our e-commerce platform, email, IT and accounting systems, our professional advisers, credit reporting bodies where you apply for an account, and government or law enforcement bodies where the law requires it. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers, such as our e-commerce platform, email and payment providers, store or process data outside Australia. The countries involved may include the United States and countries in the European Union. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Security and retention
We protect your information with reasonable technical and organisational measures. These include encrypted connections, password-protected systems, and restricting access to staff who need it. No internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, for example for tax records. After that we securely destroy or de-identify it.
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Access and correction
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting our Privacy Officer. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will tell you why.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer in writing. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
